GCN's  Pete Weatherby QC  will be appearing on a panel of speakers at the forthcoming Haldane Human Rights Lecture on the subject of "Child Sex Abuse Inquiry: a road to justice?" which takes place in Manchester on 21st May 2015.

"Child Sex Abuse Inquiry: a road to justice?"

The statutory Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse has recently been set up to consider whether, and the extent to which, public bodies and other non-state institutions have taken seriously their duty of care to protect children from sexual abuse in England and Wales.

Speakers at this Haldane Human Rights lecture will consider this new Inquiry and its potential for bringing about justice and in particular the focus will be on the recent news that Theresa May and Justice Goddard have recently decided that people who are "out" as survivors cannot be on the panel.
