We offer expert advice and representation in all areas including community care assessments, inadequate service provision, residential and non-residential services, charging and MHRT decisions. Members of the Team are expets in the field of human rights law and employ arguments under the ECHR.
In community care, Members deal with a broad range of work for individuals, mainly in the Administrative Court, but also in proceedings before the Court of Protection. We regularly deal with matters as diverse as the provision of accommodation for destitute asylum seekers, challenges to the content of care plans, and disputes over the closure of care homes. The experience of our Members in housing and immigration work complements this area of practice.
Members of the Team regularly appear in the Administrative Court and in the County Court in complex community care and public law matters.
The Team are particularly aware of the many overlaps between these and other areas of specialisation and can offer expertise in housing, immigration, education law and welfare rights where appropriate.
