Proving Innocence: Miscarriage of Justice Compensation Claims Dismissed

The High Court has this morning, in Nealon and Anor, R (on the application) v The Secretary of State for Justice [2015] EWHC 1565 (Admin), handed down judgment dismissing the claims brought by Victor Nealon and Sam Hallam for compensation for miscarriage of justice.

Garden Court North Chambers’ Matthew Stanbury and Joseph Markus are acting for the claimant, Mr Nealon, in this test case to challenge a new law introduced last year to cut compensation for almost all justice miscarriage victims. They are instructed by Mark Newby of Qualitysolicitors Jordans.
