Asylum, Trafficking and Modern Slavery (Belfast)

Organised by the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA), this one-day course looks at the law, processes and skills involved in representing victims of trafficking in an immigration context. The morning session will focus on the identification process and legal challenges to identification decisions. The afternoon session will focus on the practical skills required in representing victims of trafficking who are seeking asylum and other forms of leave to remain. Case studies and precedent letters will be used to illustrate the topics.

Trainers include our own Lucy Mair, Carita Thomas from Anti Trafficking and Labour Exploitation Unit (ATLEU) and Ashleigh Garcia from Law Centre NI.
