Housing Law Practitioners’ Association (HLPA) Conference 2025
Garden Court North’s Christian Weaver will be speaking at the Housing Law Practitioners’ Association (HLPA) Conference 2025 on Thursday 4 December in London.
HLPA’s annual conference brings together housing law practitioners, with this year’s event focusing on new technological developments’ impact on housing challenges, as well as key legal developments in rental reform, homelessness, discrimination and legal aid. It will be held at 10 Union Street Conference Centre, London, from 9:30am-6pm.
Christian will be chairing at the second session of parallel seminars starting at 3:45pm. The ‘lessons learnt from inquests and inquiries’ seminar will see Christian joined by Allison Munroe KC (Garden Court Chambers), Isabel Bertschinger (One Pump Court) and Aniesha Obuobie (INQUEST’s Grenfell Project Coordinator).

Christian is part of Garden Court North’s inquests and public inquiries team. His work frequently intersects with housing law, notably including his representation of Awaab Ishak’s family at the inquest into his death, due to prolonged exposure to mould in his Rochdale social housing. Christian was heavily involved in the campaign for Awaab’s Law, which came into force in October earlier this year.
