Human Rights and Legal Aid careers
Join an expert panel to gain an insight into a career as a human rights and legal aid practitioner.
The event will be introduced by our associate member Dr Philip Drake – Senior Lecturer of Law, Director of Social Responsibility for the School of Social Sciences, and Director of the Justice Hub at The University of Manchester.
You will then hear from our panel, chaired by Garden Court North’s Lily Lewis, including Jennifer Devans-Tamakloe of 23 Essex Street Chambers, Ryan Bradshaw from Leigh Day Solicitors, and Greater Manchester Law Centre’s Rosie Coan.
The panel will talk about the motivations and practical considerations that brought them to their current careers in human rights and legal aid, and discuss their recent work and areas of interest. After the discussion there will be an opportunity for questions from the audience.
The event will take place in Room 2.218 at University Place from 6pm and refreshments will be served afterwards in Room 2.220.
This event is supported by the The University of Manchester’s School of Social Sciences’ Employability funding.
