Garden Court North Chambers’ Housing Team presents a seminar that will address possession and injunction proceedings arising out of breaches of tenancy by tenants who hoard belongings and/or will not give access to their homes.

It will consider not only how to defend those proceedings, but also alternative remedies for addressing many of the issues that arise including the use of community care and safeguarding measures under the Care Act 2014.

The seminar will also consider the developing understanding of what causes and exacerbates hoarding disorders and how that should influence the steps taken by social landlords to address them, along with the role of the Court of Protection in such cases.
