Orgreave: A Long Road to Truth Justice and Accountability

Garden Court North’s Pete Weatherby KC will be speaking at the ‘Orgreave: A Long Road to Truth Justice and Accountability’ hybrid seminar on 11 November.

The seminar, hosted by Garden Court Chambers in London, will examine the Government’s recently announced public inquiry into the events at Orgreave coking plant in 1984, when South Yorkshire police officers attacked 95 picketing miners.

The seminar will run from 6-7:30pm, followed by networking drinks. Free tickets are available here.

In the years that followed Orgreave, Mark George KC – one of Chambers’ founding members and former Head of Chambers – became one of the most vocal campaigners calling for an inquiry. Pete was a founding member alongside Mark.

On 11 November, Pete will be joined by Garden Court Chambers’ Thalia Maragh, Marguerite Russell and Jodie Blackstock, alongside Paul Heron (Public Law Interest Centre), and Kate Flannery and Chris Peace from the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign.
