Police Law Update

This free webinar will provide an update on legal developments in police law.

Dr Joe Purshouse will present a general update on, among other things, data and information claims, negligence, and changes to police misconduct proceedings.

Lily Lewis will deliver an update on the ongoing Undercover Policing Inquiry, and there will be a brief opportunity for questions at the end of the session.

The event will be chaired by Camille Warren.

About the Chair

Camille Warren has a practice that is focused on civil liberties across all her areas of expertise. Camille has 14 years of experience in police law and regularly appears for claimants in civil jury and judge led trials. She has particular specialisms in data protection and privacy claims and protest cases. She also appears in related public law claims, such as those involving the IOPC and under the Police Regulations.

About the speakers

Dr Joe Purshouse has spent more than a decade in academia. His PhD thesis is titled Safeguarding Privacy from Criminal Process and he is currently a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Law and Justice at the University of Sheffield.

Lily Lewis has a multidisciplinary human rights and civil liberties practice. Lily currently represents Core Participants who were subject to surveillance by undercover officers in the Undercover Policing Inquiry.
