Welfare Benefits seminar (Hybrid/Doughty Street Chambers)


GCN’s Tom Royston will join Adam Straw KC from Doughty Street Chambers and Carla Clarke a (Interim) Legal Director of Public Law Project as a speaker at the forthcoming seminar – Welfare Benefits: Recent judgments and their implications in practice; policy and legislative proposals or changes; and potential future challenges on behalf of claimants.

The session will cover recent significant Upper Tribunal and higher court cases, on universal credit, including about waiver of overpayments, deductions, sanctions, migration of benefits, increases to the amount of UC or asylum support, bereavement support, LCW assessments, discrimination, and the application of EU Law to benefits.

The seminar will take place in-person at Doughty Street Chambers, with an option to join remotely.
