Young Legal Aid Lawyers (YLAL): 25 Years of the Human Rights Act

Garden Court North’s Misha Nayak-Oliver will be speaking at the Young Legal Aid Lawyers (YLAL) ’25 Years of the Human Rights Act’ event on 2 December.

The YLAL event, which will take place at Leigh Day’s offices in Liverpool from 6:30-8pm, aims to gather junior practitioners to discuss the impact of the Human Rights Act and consider how to defend it going forwards amid an increasingly hostile environment.

YLAL: 25 Years of the Human Rights Act

The Human Rights Act, which enshrined the European Convention on Human Rights under UK law, has been pivotal to Garden Court North’s work in upholding people’s rights through justice since it came into force in October 2000.

Misha will draw on her experience in social security, housing and immigration law to discuss the Act.

Free tickets for the YLAL event in Liverpool are available here. There will also be a simultaneous YLAL event held in London, for which tickets are available here.
