Garden Court North is delighted to welcome Iqra Shahid and Pragnya Iovine as our two new pupils for 2025.

Iqra and Pragnya began the first-six of their pupillages on 1 October 2025. Iqra will be supervised by Lucy Mair, while Pragnya will be supervised by Ciara Bartlam and Elizabeth Mottershaw.

Before commencing pupillage at Garden Court North, Iqra worked at the Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit (GMIAU) as Domestic Abuse Legal Support Worker supporting vulnerable clients in immigration and asylum matters, including victims of domestic abuse and trafficking.

Before coming to the Bar, Pragnya worked as a paralegal at Deighton Pierce Glynn and Irwin Mitchell, in their actions against public authorities team. Her work focused on civil claims and complaints against the police and other state agencies, and inquests arising out of deaths in state custody.
