Practice Assistant
Salary: £28,000 p.a. (negotiable for more experienced candidates)
Full time hours of work are 9am to 6pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5.30pm Friday.
Flexible and hybrid working arrangements will be considered.
Appointment is subject to Chambers’ usual six-month probationary period.
Garden Court North Chambers invites applications for the role of Practice Assistant to join our highly experienced Practice Management Team.
The purpose of the job is to support the efficient administration of Chambers. The core tasks of the role are varied, incorporating clerking and administrative tasks, and can be best understood from the job description accompanying this advert. Prior relevant experience is desirable, and the ideal applicant will be someone seeking career development as a Barristers’ Clerk in Chambers.
The vacancy is advertised with genuine promotion prospects within our Practice Management Team.

Person Specification
Essential
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade 4 and above or equivalent qualification
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Polite, confident communication style
- Strong IT skills and experience of using the Microsoft 365 environment
- Ability to manage own workload and work effectively as part of a team
Desirable
- Previous experience in a barristers’ chambers or similar office environment
- LEX case management system experience or similar professional software
