Pragnya joined Garden Court North Chambers as a pupil barrister in October 2025 and is currently accepting instructions in all of Chambers' core practice areas. She is supervised by Ciara Bartlam and Elizabeth Mottershaw.
Before coming to the Bar, Prag worked as a paralegal in the Actions Against Public Authorities team at two national firms. Her work focused on civil claims and complaints against the Police and other State agencies, and inquests arising out of deaths in state custody. She was also part of Extinction Rebellion's legal support team, where she worked with protestors facing criminal charges, coordinated legal challenges to unlawful policing, and helped produce accessible legal education materials.
During her first six months of pupillage, Prag worked with the Inquests and Inquiries team, building upon her previous experience as a paralegal in inquests. She observed a range of cases including shadowing Pete Weatherby KC on the Southport Inquiry, Ciara Bartlam at the inquest into the death of Alex Davies and Camille Warren at the inquest into the death of James Stow.
Following an inquest, a solicitor commented “I also want to praise Prag, she was fantastic. I understand that she has only just started her pupillage, but she threw herself in completely, and was a massive help”. Prag has gained experience in drafting submissions for PIRs including on Article 2 and on conclusions to be left to the jury.
Prag has worked with all members of the protest rights team on cases in both the Magistrates and the Crown Court. She shadowed Mira Hammad on the ‘Filton Trial’, and was appointed as a noting brief for the first week of the trial.
She has also worked with Garden Court North's housing team on cases across the full spectrum of housing law, including: possession, disrepair, committal applications, unlawful eviction, and homelessness appeals. She has observed a broad range of hearings, settlement negotiations, and gained experience in drafting pleadings.
Prag welcomes instructions in all of Chambers' core areas of practice, and in particular inquest/inquiries, crime, AAP, housing, and public law.
