Garden Court North’s Christian Weaver has been awarded a Pegasus Scholarship by The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, which will see him undertake a six-week programme in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, starting next Tuesday (16 June 2026).
The prestigious Pegasus Scholarship will see Christian spend time with a wide range of lawyers, judges and Malaysian legal organisations specialising in a variety of practice areas.
In Kuala Lumpur, Christian will be hosted by various leading practitioners including:
- Collin Arvind Andrew, leading criminal law practitioner from Collin Law Chambers and Chairperson of the Malaysian National Legal Aid Committee
- Abraham Au, partner of G. S. Nijar Advocates
- Rashid Ismail, Managing Partner of Rashid Zulkifli, a leading Malaysian advocate in death penalty cases

Speaking ahead of the scholarship, Christian said: “I’m looking forward to understanding the Malaysian legal system, learning from different approaches and perspectives, hopefully contributing something back, and bringing those insights into my own practice in the UK”.
“Alongside the formal programme, I’m hoping to make the most of the opportunity to get to know the country, its people and its institutions. My sincere thanks to the Inner Temple, the Pegasus Trust, the Malaysian Inner Temple Alumni Association, Garden Court North Chambers and everyone involved in making the placement possible.”
Christian is part of Garden Court North’s inquests and public inquiries team. While undertaking the Pegasus Scholarship, he will be publishing a series of written reflections, which can be followed on our ‘News’ page.
